Mayerlin Kanterman is currently in Strategy and Business Development for an early-stage startup company called Bondirectly, founded in 2018. The firm is a secure electronic peer-to-peer bond trading network for executing trades at mid-market prices using cryptographic technology. Ms. Kanterman works closely with the CEO/founder to develop strategic initiatives, partnerships, client acquisition and future company growth. Ms. Kanterman helps with the finances and fund-raising activities.

Previously, Ms. Kanterman served in a corporate investment banking position at BNP Paribas, during which time she supported client strategy and Business Development. She also was a Vice President of BNY Mellon’s Global Corporate Development group. In this role, she directly advised BNY Mellon’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), heads of businesses, and Executive Committee (EC) members on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, organic growth initiatives, corporate restructuring, outsourcing opportunities, partnerships, minority investments and strategic ventures. During her time at BNY Mellon she worked on more than 100 M&A transactions and executed over 30 principal strategic investments supporting the company’s Digital strategy and Industry Utility consortium initiatives including technology such as Machine Learning, artificial intelligence, asset tokenization, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. She worked closely with the Chief Strategic Growth executive and the Chief Administrative Officer on various transformation initiatives.

Ms. Kanterman worked for a variety of financial services companies including Broadridge, CIT, AIG, and JPMorgan Chase. Kanterman has held various roles allowing her to develop a strong business acumen and understanding of an organization. She holds a B.A in Economics and an M.B.A. in Finance & Marketing from the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she served as a board member. She was a dean’s list student and a member of the Golden Key Society. In addition to her studies, she has completed professional training at Harvard, Morgan Stanley, and the Investment Banking Institute. She enjoys different cultures studying in China and Colombia during her graduate and undergraduate years.

Kanterman enjoys giving back to the community and has been a member of various diversity groups including Women’s Bond Club (WBC), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Latino Leadership Forum (LLF) and WIN, BNY Mellon’s Women’s Initiatives Network. Her other interests include cycling and golfing.
